Should I improve my smile?

Should I improve my smile?
Stained, discoloured teeth can cause you to look older than you really are.

Stains as a result of smoking, drinking coffee, red wine and poor brushing may lead others to think you are older. However if you have a gleaming white smile they think you are younger than you really are. Bad teeth can make you look as much as 12 years older.

In a study carried out in Britain photos of models were shown to participants. A female model of 31 was estimated to be 37 with mild stains and 43 with heavily stained teeth-a 12 year difference!

A male model also in his thirties was estimated at 28 with white teeth, 32 with mild stains 38 with dark stains.

When we first meet people one of the first things we notice is their teeth. Those with discoloured or bad teeth tend not to smile as they feel embarrassed and do not wish to give off a bad impression. Those with a big smile appear to be more friendly and approachable.

Healthy teeth serve as a major indicator of a healthy life style.

People with a nice white smile have been shown to have more successful careers.
