Treatment concerns

Oral health care is a personalised service that requires a good relationship between you and your dentist. If you have a concern about the dental treatment you receive, your dentist would want to know about it.

Your first step is to talk to your dentist and explain your concerns or fears. Your dentist is trained and licensed to provide you with oral health care in a safe and ethical manner and will address any questions you may have about the treatment plan set out for you.

If you feel you cannot discuss your concerns with your dentist, contact the south african dental association (sada). As a self-regulating body, sada ensures all dentists adhere to codes of conduct and ethical practices under national health legislation.

You and your dentist are partners in your oral health care. To alleviate treatment concerns, talk openly with your dentist about your treatment plan and schedule.
